Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva

Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry

Montestefano is one of the nine single-cru Riservas the Produttori del Barbaresco cooperative bottles only in strong vintages, aged for at least thirty months in large Slavonian oak casks. A steep, south-facing amphitheatre gives the most muscular wine of the set: dark cherry and blackberry, licorice, tar and iron, with a dried-rose lift and dense, powerful tannins. It is the slowest of the Riservas to come around and among the longest-lived.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
