Asili

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry

Ca' del Baio, the Grasso family estate in Treiso, owns a well-placed parcel in Asili, one of Barbaresco's most famous crus. Its Asili is aged in large oak and shows the cru's hallmark perfume: red cherry and raspberry, rose and violet, orange peel and a touch of sweet spice. Fine-grained but firm tannins and bright acidity give it a long, elegant line. It opens up a few years after release and ages well for fifteen years.

Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
