Il Quadro delle Rose is a parcel within contrada Feudo di Mezzo, near Passopisciaro on Etna's north slope, bottled separately by Marc de Grazia's Tenuta delle Terre Nere. Nerello Mascalese, with a little Nerello Cappuccio in the old field-blend vines, aged about fourteen months in barrique. Deeply aromatic: raspberry and cherry with rose, earthy, savoury and volcanic notes and a touch of sweet spice, high acidity and fine but firm, fuzzy tannin. One of the estate's single-contrada crus, built to age.
