Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

Costasera takes its name from the slopes above Lake Garda that catch the evening sun, and Masi's Riserva is the estate's most serious Amarone — longer drying and longer ageing than the standard bottling, released only in vintages judged worthy. Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara giving dried cherry, fig and plum over cocoa, coffee, leather and warm spice, with the bitter-almond finish the region's grapes leave. Full-bodied and powerful, dry despite the ripeness, with firm tannin and real length.
