Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

Donnafugata's Etna Rosso from bush-trained vines on the volcano's northern slope around Randazzo and Castiglione di Sicilia, mostly Nerello Mascalese with a little Nerello Cappuccio. It ages at least 16 months, mainly in cement with a small share in used French barriques, then rests in bottle before release. Pale ruby, with wild berries, red currant, black pepper and clove; fresh and supple, with fine, well-integrated tannins and the bright acidity of high-altitude Etna fruit.

Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
