Jeune

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

The youngest and most immediate red from Château Musar, Lebanon's most famous estate. Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from younger vines in the Bekaa Valley, blended in proportions that change with the vintage (roughly half Cinsault in most years), and bottled without oak. The opposite of the long-aged Château Musar: bright red cherry and raspberry with darker berry and plum, a peppery Syrah edge and a herbal note, on soft, supple tannins. Made to be drunk within a few years of the vintage, lightly cool, with mezze, grilled meats or everyday food.

Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
