Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Bodega Weinert in Luján de Cuyo is Mendoza's great traditionalist, ageing its reds for years in large old French oak foudres in a cool stone cellar and releasing them later than most Argentine wineries. The Cabernet Sauvignon shows it: ripe, soft blackcurrant and plum with dried cherry, cedar, tobacco and a leathery, slightly evolved savour, light integrated oak and polished, gentle tannins, at around 13.7% alcohol for the 2021. An old-school, European-leaning Cabernet that drinks well on release and keeps for a decade.
Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
