Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Weinert's Malbec from Luján de Cuyo, the historic heart of Mendoza and the first place in the world to give Malbec its own appellation. The estate is one of Argentina's genuine outliers: it never abandoned very long ageing in large old casks before release, so the wine arrives already tertiary while contemporaries are still selling primary fruit. Dark plum and dried cherry over leather, tobacco, walnut and a savoury earthiness, full-bodied with resolved tannin and moderate acidity. It tastes decades older than its age, by design.
Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
