Derthona Timorasso

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry

La Spinetta's Derthona is a Colli Tortonesi Timorasso from organically farmed vines in Montemarzino and Monleale, in the hills east of Tortona. It is fermented and aged in stainless steel, rested on its lees for some months and released the September after the harvest. Citrus, green apple and white peach meet acacia and a stony minerality on a firm, high-acid palate with more weight than most Piedmontese whites. Timorasso gains honeyed, nutty and slightly petrolly complexity in bottle, so this rewards a few years of patience.
