Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Stonegarden was planted in 1858 and is among the oldest vineyard sites in Australia, sitting at around 400 metres in the Eden Valley on granite and quartz rock. Grenache from an ancient parcel here comes out quite unlike the warm Barossa floor below — pure raspberry, red plum and blueberry with dried herb, warm spice and a stony, mineral finish. Medium-bodied with lacy, granular tannin and a long line of freshness. Deep but genuinely elegant, and made unfined and unfiltered from a wild ferment.
