Grenache is usually associated with the warm Barossa floor, but grown up in the Eden Valley the variety changes character entirely — the altitude and cold nights hold the acidity and keep the perfume intact where heat would give sweetness and alcohol. Wild raspberry and red cherry with dried herb, white pepper, rose petal and a stony finish. Medium-bodied with fine, powdery tannin. Fragrant and lifted, closer in spirit to the southern Rhône's cooler sites than to the Barossa's richer style.
