Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry
Bramaterra from Colombera & Garella's home farm, Cascina Cottignano, in the hills above Masserano in Alto Piemonte. Roughly 80% Nebbiolo (Spanna) with Croatina and Vespolina, grown on acidic volcanic porphyry in a cool sub-alpine climate, fermented spontaneously and raised in used wood. Paler and more nervous than Langhe Nebbiolo: sour cherry and wild strawberry with rose petal, a blood-orange note, and an iron and flint minerality, carried by high acidity and firm, fine tannin. A wine that rewards several years in bottle.
