Barbaresco Basarin

Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry

Basarin is a single-vineyard Barbaresco DOCG from Angelo Negro, a family estate rooted in the Roero. The Basarin vineyard in Neive was once the parish priest's and was planted in 1951, which makes it one of the older vineyards of the Neive side of Barbaresco. 100% Nebbiolo, aged about 26 months between Slavonian oak and bottle. Wild strawberry, cherry and rose petal with the firm tannin and high acidity of Nebbiolo. Built to age, with the producer suggesting ten to fifteen years.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
