Tokara's flagship Bordeaux blend, grown on the Simonsberg slopes above Stellenbosch and led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc filling in around it. Blackcurrant and dark plum over cedar, tobacco leaf and a graphite edge, on firm but polished tannins, with the oak sitting behind the fruit rather than on top of it. Generous already, and in a strong vintage it will hold and deepen for a decade or more.
