Faithful Hound

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Mulderbosch's Faithful Hound is a Stellenbosch Bordeaux-style blend of all five classic varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, in proportions that change with the vintage. It is aged about 16 months in French oak and shows blackcurrant, plum and red cherry with cedar, tobacco leaf and a herbal edge. Medium-bodied, with polished tannins and fresh acidity, it is approachable young and gains savoury complexity over its first several years.
