A single-block bottling from vines planted in 1927, the oldest Marsanne on an estate that already holds what is believed to be the largest single planting of the variety on earth. Released with bottle age and made to be kept longer still. Young it is restrained — honeysuckle, white peach, lemon, unoaked and quietly dry. With a decade or more it transforms into beeswax, toasted nuts, honey and lanolin, gaining a waxy, resonant texture it never had at the start. Medium-bodied with moderate acidity that nonetheless carries it for decades. The old-vine selection has more concentration and a longer finish than the estate bottling.
