Tahbilk has been in the same family since 1925 and farming at Nagambie Lakes since 1860, with some of the oldest Shiraz vines on earth on the property. This reserve tier is named for Eric Stevens Purbrick, who ran the estate for much of the twentieth century, and is made only from the best parcels in the best years. Dark plum and blackberry with black pepper, dried herb, licorice and an earthy, savoury core. Medium-full with firm tannin and a long acid line — a deliberately traditional style that is austere young and famously long-lived.
