Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

Nagambie Lakes is unusual in inland Victoria — a network of waterways moderates the climate and keeps the nights cool, which is why Cabernet grown here holds its structure and herbal lift rather than turning jammy in the regional heat. Cassis and dark plum with cedar, dried herb, tobacco and an earthy, savoury depth. Medium-full with firm tannin and a long finish. The estate has farmed this ground since 1860 and the style is deliberately traditional: austere young, and built to age.
