Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

Nagambie Lakes is unusual in inland Victoria — a network of waterways moderates the climate and keeps the nights cool, which is why Cabernet grown here holds its structure and its herbal lift rather than turning jammy. This is the estate's reserve tier, named for the man who ran it through much of the twentieth century, and made only in seasons that warrant it. Cassis and dark plum with cedar, dried herb, graphite and tobacco. Medium-full with firm, fine tannin and a savoury finish. Traditional in shape and slow to open.
