The white half of the Millet collaboration, and since its first release in 2018 sourced entirely from a one-hectare Chardonnay block on the Kopuwai Delta vineyard in Pisa — a flat terrace at 225m on schist, river stone and fine gravel, with a further 0.7ha planted in 2016. Hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed, the free run and press wine combined before fermentation, settled and racked off heavy lees into barrel, then seventeen months' élevage with hand racking off fine lees in the way Millet handles his Pinot. White floral aromas open onto white peach and mandarin, with brioche and macadamia behind and a backbone of stony acidity and oyster-shell minerality tying it together. Named New Zealand's white wine of the year in its 2022 vintage. Decant it in youth.
