Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

Burdese takes its name from the Sicilian dialect word for "from Bordeaux": Planeta's Bordeaux-style red from its Menfi estates in south-western Sicily, roughly 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc, matured in French oak barriques. Blackcurrant and black cherry with graphite, cedar and tobacco, lifted by the herbal note the Cabernet Franc brings. Full-bodied, with firm, ripe tannin and the warmth of a Sicilian summer, it closes up in youth and opens with several years in bottle.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
