Les Caourdets is Maxime Oudiette's smallest single-vineyard Blanc de Blancs: a plot of some 1,600 Chardonnay vines planted in 1984 at Beaunay, behind the Côte des Blancs, made entirely from a single harvest, barrel-fermented and finished Extra Brut. Precise and chiselled, with lemon zest, pear and white flowers, a chalky, saline backbone and a toasted-almond note from the barrel. A rare, terroir-driven grower Champagne.
