Oiseau Rare — Mas Amiel's dry red from old Grenache with Carignan, some vines planted around 1914, on the calc-schist slopes at Maury. The estate is famous for its fortified vins doux naturels, and this is the serious still wine they built from those old plots after twenty years converting to organic and biodynamic farming. Ripe red and black fruit over dried herbs, cured meat and a distinct schist minerality, medium to full bodied with fine tannin and real freshness for the latitude.
