Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, high acidity, dry

Couvent des Jacobins is Louis Jadot's long-standing regional Burgundy label, named after the thirteenth-century Dominican convent in Beaune whose buildings house the firm's cellars. The white is Chardonnay drawn from across the region and made in the recognisable Jadot manner: part barrel, full malolactic, a rounder and gently buttery texture rather than a steely one, over lemon and green apple fruit with a hazelnut note and a dry, stony close. Medium-bodied, dependable and made to be opened rather than kept — a house white that does the job of white Burgundy without the price or the risk. Serve at 11-12°C.
