Bandol rouge from La Bastide Blanche, the organic Bronzo family estate at Sainte-Anne-du-Castellet on the limestone slopes behind the Provençal coast. Mourvèdre leads, as Bandol's rules require, with Grenache and Cinsault, and the wine is aged at length in large oak foudres. Brooding dark plum and blackberry with black olive, garrigue, leather and a smoky, meaty edge, full-bodied with firm, grippy tannins in youth: a long-lived Mediterranean red.
