Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

The flagship of Antinori's Tenuta Guado al Tasso estate in Bolgheri, a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot (with Petit Verdot in some vintages), aged about 18 months in new French barriques. Dense blackcurrant, black cherry and plum meet cedar, graphite and a coastal herb lift; the tannins are firm and polished, and the wine needs several years in bottle to open fully, ageing gracefully for two decades.
