Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry
The second red of Podere Grattamacco, a Bordeaux-leaning Bolgheri blend. The 2023 is roughly 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, with 10% Sangiovese and a touch of Petit Verdot. It is fermented in steel and aged in used barrels. Expect currant, black raspberry and graphite with herbal and floral lift, carried by a compact, fresh frame of defined tannin. It is approachable early but has the structure for medium-term cellaring.
