Langhe Bianco Scapulin

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, low tannin, medium acidity, dry

Giuseppe Cortese's Scapulin is a Langhe Chardonnay from the Trifolera vineyard in Barbaresco, grown at about 320 metres on limestone. It is fermented and aged for around ten months in barrel and then rests in bottle before release. Ripe orchard fruit and citrus sit over light vanilla and nutty oak, with a mineral line that keeps it fresh. It is a polished, mid-weight white for fish and lighter Piedmontese dishes, best within its first five or six years.

Serving: Serve at 9–11 °C.
