The barrel-fermented top Chardonnay from a Piedmontese estate better known for Barbera and Moscato — a selection of the best fruit, fermented and aged twelve months in French oak. Golden in the glass, with melon and ripe citrus over honey, toasted oak and a smoky edge, full-bodied and textured but held together by a firm acid line and a salty finish. Richer and more worked than the estate's straight Beviòn, which sees only steel.
