Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium acidity, dry

Torbolino is Fattoria La Vialla's organic, unfiltered Tuscan white, a blend of Chardonnay with aromatic Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc. Unlike traditional torbolino, which is part-fermented must, it is fully fermented and dry (about 0.6 g/l residual sugar). The yeast left in the wine makes it slightly cloudy and adds a bready note to stone fruit, citrus and floral aromas.

Serving: Serve at 9–11 °C.

Where it comes from

Tuscany, Italy

Tuscany (Toscana) is one of Italy's most iconic wine regions, set in the rolling hills of the country's centre and inseparable from the Sangiovese grape.

Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a white grape from Burgundy that has spread to nearly every wine-growing region on earth, prized for its versatility and its ability to reflect both terroir and the winemaker's hand.

Viognier

Viognier is a white grape from the northern Rhône Valley in France, long the signature of the tiny appellation Condrieu and a variety that came close to disappearing before a revival spread it far beyond its Rhône home.

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is a white grape from France's Loire Valley (and a parent of Cabernet Sauvignon) prized for its zesty, aromatic character and refreshing bite.
