A collaboration between Ernst Loosen and the Spanish winemaker Telmo Rodríguez, made from very old ungrafted vines on the blue slate of Graacher Himmelreich. Following century-old Mosel practice, it is fermented on the skins, basket-pressed, then aged two years on its lees in a barrel that once held one of Telmo's Riojas, and another two in bottle before release. Dry (about 3 g/l sugar, 12% alcohol) but with far more texture and grip than that suggests: dried apricot, orange peel and yellow apple over slate, beeswax and spice.
