Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry
Donnachiara's Irpinia Aglianico is pure Aglianico from the estate's vineyards around Montefalcione in Avellino, given about six months in barrique. It is the younger, more approachable sibling of the estate's Taurasi: plum, wild blackberry and cherry with violet and rosemary, firm but ripe tannin and Aglianico's bright acidity. Best with hearty food, and good from a couple of years after the vintage.
Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
