Tasting profile
Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes is a historic Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate of about 25 hectares, now owned by Maison Ogier. The red is around 80% Grenache, with Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault, aged about a year in foudres and oak vats. Ripe black cherry and raspberry with garrigue, leather and a peppery lift, generous and warming in the appellation's style, with smooth tannin. Approachable young, it gains savoury depth with several years in the cellar.
