Solus

Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

Solus is the top red of Château de Caraguilhes, an organic estate (certified since 1987) in the Corbières hills. The blend is led by old-vine Carignan with Mourvèdre and Syrah from rocky clay-limestone slopes, and about three quarters of it spends some ten months in French oak. Expect a dense, dark-fruited Corbières with garrigue herbs, olive and liquorice, firm but ripe tannins, and oak that settles with a few years in bottle.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
