L'Échappée Belle

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

An organically farmed Corbières-Boutenac built around Carignan (about four fifths) with Mourvèdre, from Château de Caraguilhes. The cuvée sets out to show what Carignan can do from the Boutenac cru: dark cherry and bramble fruit, wild herbs and liquorice over a fresh, firm frame, with Mourvèdre adding a savoury, peppery depth. It is made to gain in bottle rather than to charm on release.

Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
