Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry

Castrum Roche is the young La Morra label of Isacco Costamagna, who farms two hectares in the Torriglione cru that once supplied Roberto Voerzio and Trediberri; 2021 was the first vintage. The Langhe Nebbiolo is fermented with native yeasts after about a week's maceration and raised in steel, from organically farmed vines. It is more of a "baby Barolo" than a light Langhe: red cherry and raspberry fruit with rose and herbs, Torriglione's breadth of texture and firm Nebbiolo tannin. Good with tajarin, veal or mushroom risotto.
