Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry
Capanna is a family estate in the north of Montalcino, better known for its Brunello, and its Rosso di Montalcino is 100% Sangiovese aged briefly in large Slavonian oak casks. It is the fresher, earlier-drinking side of the estate: a red-fruited nose of cherry and raspberry with touches of citrus peel and Mediterranean herbs, a medium-bodied, refreshing palate and easy tannins. Best in its first few years, when the fruit is brightest.
Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
