Colledilà is Barone Ricasoli's single vineyard at Brolio, a parcel of alberese and limestone rubble that was the first of the estate's cru bottlings and became one of the founding Gran Selezione wines when the category was created in 2013. It is pure Sangiovese, and it shows the grape at its most structured: sour cherry and blood orange over dried rose, tobacco and a hard ferrous line, with high acidity and firm, fine tannin. Around eighteen months in French oak, restrained enough that the wood reads as spice. A serious, slow-opening Chianti Classico from the estate that has been at Brolio since the twelfth century.
