Chianti

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

The entry-level Chianti DOCG of Barone Ricasoli, the Brolio house whose 19th-century baron wrote the original Chianti recipe. It is mostly Sangiovese with a small share of other red varieties, made in stainless steel for freshness rather than oak. Expect sour cherry and red plum with a violet lift, light herbal and tobacco notes, lively acidity and moderate tannin. A straightforward everyday Chianti for the table, made to drink within its first few years.

Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
