Selezione Antonio Castagnedi is the main Amarone of Tenuta Sant'Antonio, the estate the four Castagnedi brothers founded in 1989 in the eastern Valpolicella hills, named for their father. About 70% Corvina and Corvinone with Rondinella and a little Croatina and Oseleta, the grapes dried for months before fermentation and the wine aged in barrique, at around 15%. Dense and warm: dried cherry, prune and raisin with dark chocolate, sweet spice and tobacco, ripe tannins and a long, velvety finish.
Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
