Tasting profile

Structure: light-bodied, low tannin, high acidity, dry

FKA! ("formerly known as") No. 3 is a field-blend co-ferment from Open Hand Ranch, a ten-acre, organically and regeneratively farmed Mendocino County vineyard planted in the 1980s. In 2022 it is 55% Merlot, 25% Chardonnay and 20% Pinotage: the Chardonnay and Pinotage were co-fermented, part as whole clusters, then joined by separately fermented Merlot in a large foudre, with no fining, filtration or added sulphur, at about 12% alcohol. A light, juicy, chillable red with raspberry, plum and pomegranate, an orange-peel and herbal edge from the white grapes and soft tannins.

Serving: Serve at 12–14 °C.
