Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, high acidity, dry

Lunatic is Subject to Change Wine Co.'s natural Syrah from the eight acres of vines at Sunhawk Farms in Mendocino County, planted some twenty years ago by John Schaeffer. Picked early for freshness (under 12% alcohol in some vintages) and made with minimal intervention in small lots. Deep and inky yet lively: blueberry and black cherry with black olive, cracked pepper, a eucalyptus lift and violet, fresh acidity and juicy, moderate tannins. A cool-climate-style Syrah with a savoury, spicy finish.

Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
