Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high acidity, dry

The Tradition wines recreate how Gobelsburg made wine in the first half of the 19th century: basket-pressed, fermented without temperature control in 25hl Manhartsberg oak casks, then racked every few months for around two years before bottling. The result is a rich, golden-hued white built from Grüner Veltliner with a portion of Riesling — ripe apple, pear and quince over a savoury, almost miso-like depth, with an oily texture held in tension by fine mineral acidity and a long, salty finish. It is released as a multi-vintage cuvée under numbered Editions rather than a single year.
