Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high tannin, medium acidity, dry

Torre Muga is Bodegas Muga's high-expression cuvée, made from old vines (55+ years) at 480–560 m around Labastida, Briñas and Villalba de Rioja. It's mostly Tempranillo, with Mazuelo and Graciano, and aged in new French oak. It's the house's most modern, concentrated statement: dark cherry and blackberry with violet, cocoa, liquorice and a graphite-toasty frame. It's full-bodied and dense, with firm, finely grained tannin and enough freshness to carry the extraction. Young bottles need air or patience, and the wine is built for long cellaring.

Serving: Serve at 16–18 °C.
