Cimarosa Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Tasting profile

Structure: light-bodied, high acidity, dry

Cimarosa is Lidl's own label, and this is a Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough at the top of New Zealand's South Island, the region that made the grape famous for its vivid, punchy style. The label calls it zesty and fruity, which is the Marlborough signature: passion fruit, gooseberry and lime, a green streak of cut grass and pepper, and bright, mouth-watering acidity. Serve it well chilled with goat's cheese, asparagus, herb salads, sushi or a Thai green curry. Like most Marlborough Sauvignon it is made for its youth, so drink it within a couple of years of the vintage while the freshness is at its peak.
