Noble Reserve Trockenbeerenauslese

Tasting profile

Structure: full-bodied, high acidity, sweet

Kracher of Illmitz, by the Neusiedlersee where autumn mists bring noble rot almost every year, is Austria's great sweet-wine house. Noble Reserve is its non-vintage Trockenbeerenauslese, a blend of several vintages of botrytised Welschriesling and Chardonnay with a little Traminer, aged two to six years in French oak. Lusciously sweet yet fresh: apricot marmalade, honey and saffron with pomelo, candied orange and a light vanilla, carried by bright acidity. Ready on release, it holds for many years.

Serving: Serve at 8–10 °C.
