Gamaret/Garanoir

Tasting profile

Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry

A red from Henri Badoux's HENRI range in Aigle that blends Gamaret and Garanoir, sister grapes bred in 1970 at the Swiss research station in Pully from Gamay and Reichensteiner. Both give deep colour and dark fruit: blackberry, black cherry and blueberry with a peppery, floral lift. Medium-bodied, with supple but present tannins. A modern, fruit-forward Vaud red for everyday drinking; serve at 15–17°C with grilled meats, sausages or mushroom dishes.
