Guillaume Sergent's Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs Premier Cru from Vrigny in the Montagne de Reims, born in 2021 when frost left too little fruit for his usual Le Chemin des Chappes and he blended in other parcels. Roughly equal Pinot Noir and Meunier, partly fermented in 228-litre barrels. Juicy pome fruit, yellow cherry and wild berries over chalk, with a smoky, nutty edge and taut acidity.
