Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, high tannin, high acidity, dry
A Barbaresco DOCG, made entirely from Nebbiolo grown around Barbaresco, Neive and Treiso and aged at least two years before release, one of them in wood. Expect a pale garnet colour, a perfumed nose of red cherry, rose and dried herbs, and touches of liquorice and tar as it ages. The palate is lighter in body than Barolo but still firmly tannic and fresh. This is a straightforward appellation bottling rather than a single-vineyard wine, so it is best drunk within its first decade, with braised meat, truffle or mushroom dishes.
Serving: Serve at 15–17 °C.
