Tasting profile
Structure: medium-bodied, medium tannin, medium acidity, dry
The Vaucluse rouge of Domaine des Tours, Emmanuel Reynaud's (of Château Rayas) estate near Sarrians: a Grenache-led blend with Syrah, Merlot, Counoise and Cinsault from organically worked, hand-ploughed vines, picked late and aged in old casks. Ripe and silky in the Rayas family manner, with kirsch, raspberry and strawberry, garrigue, liquorice and a peppery lift, generous alcohol and fine-grained tannins. A country wine that drinks far above its IGP status.
